Ecuadorian P. Cubensis
These cute little bite-sized mushrooms come from a lineage originally sourced in the Andean highlands of Ecuador. Reports suggest the effects of these mushrooms are dreamy and relaxing, with pleasant visuals and some sensory distortions. These are recommended for those who find the effects some other varieties too heady, heavy, or overwhelming. Of course, the intensity of the effects increases with the dose.
Beginners should start with the smallest dose in order to ensure a safe and pleasant experience. We recommend starting low and increasing your dose over multiple sessions to find your sweet spot. Taking mushrooms consecutively or multiple days in a row will eliminate any psychedelic experience, so it is best to wait at least one week between doses.
Whether you are experienced, or new to psychedelics, “tread lightly” and as always… please follow all dosage instructions and guidelines carefully!
Trip Level 0: Microdosing
Recommended dosage: 0.2 – 0.4 g. – A micro-dose is a sub-perceptual amount of mushrooms. This can be taken every 2-3 days to boost creativity, alleviate depression, fight migraines and headaches, increase energy or feel less anxious. If you are new to microdosing, start with .2 and increase dosage slowly, as some may be more sensitive than others.
Trip Level 1: Happy go lucky
Recommended dosage: 0.5 – 1 g. – In this dose range, the effects range from mild to wild. Music sounds better, strangers seem more friendly and the mind is able to lose some control. There is a warm feeling of ‘oneness’ that may wash over you. You will experience mild visual enhancements and some sound distortion. Doses close to 1g can produce strong effects in those sensitive to psilocybin, with stronger visual hallucinations (breathing walls, moving textures, etc) beginning to emerge. As with all psychedelics, “set and setting” is important. Be sure to take them in an environment in which you feel safe and comfortable, especially if you are unfamiliar with the effects.
Trip Level 2: Beginner’s paradise
Recommended dosage: 1 – 1.5 g. – Consistent sensorial accentuation, colours becoming vivid and brighter, patterns emerge from every surface and a warm body high is felt. Be prepared for the beginnings of visual and auditory hallucinations: objects moving and coming to life along with geometrical forms when you close your eyes. It will be harder to concentrate and communicate and you will notice an increase in creativity along with an enhanced sensation, increased energy, lightness and euphoria.
Trip Level 3: Classic psychedelic trip
Recommended dosage: 1.5 – 3 g. – Trip Level 3 is great for those who want to jump in the “real” psychedelic experience. This level produces visual hallucinations, including the appearance of patterns and fractals. No more hinting or subtle flashes of visuals, this experience is immersive and all-encompassing. Distortions in the aptitude to measure the passage of time can cause an 1 hour to feel like much longer, or shorter, depending. 3g is a significant dose that should not be underestimated.
Level 4: Flying with the stars
Recommended dosage: 3 – 4 g. – Strong hallucinations take over: a psychedelic flood of shapes, contours and colours will blend together and wash over you in waves. There will be some moments when you may lose touch with reality. Random, non-existent objects may appear and the concept of time will be distorted. Intriguing to some, scary to others, this is the level where psychedelics can really be powerful, life-altering and mind-expanding. Keep in mind that this dosage is only recommend for experience users.
Level 5: Total loss
Dosage: Anywhere from 4 – 5 g +. – Total loss of contact with reality. Intense hallucinations. Great distortion of the perception of the space and time. Disappearance of the logical and known perception of the reality. Great introspection and loss of identity. Sensitive, emotional and personal experiences impossible to describe once the psychedelic experience ends. Level 5!
Do not drive or operate machinery. Ensure that you are in a safe and comfortable environment. If you are new to using mushrooms, having an experienced user or ‘trip sitter’ may be beneficial. The onset of mushrooms can occasionally feel overwhelming or nauseating, and many users prefer to be inside for the first portion of their trip. You may experience unpleasant or unusual body sensations as the mushrooms kick in – this is normal and will pass. Busy environments with crowds of people can feel overstimulating and are best avoided by most users. Always store your medicine in a safe place, away from children, pets and any unsuspecting sweet-tooth. Expect the high to last anywhere between 4-6 hours, with a prominent euphoric afterglow. Paranoia may occur, or feelings of a ‘bad trip’. Mushrooms will put you in touch with the shadowy parts of your subconscious, which may be frightening. Having a friend on call to provide comfort or distractions is helpful in the event that a trip goes south. Changing environments, practicing relaxation and breathing techniques, and listening to positive music can help turn your trip in a different direction.
